Girl band pop group The Saturdays are new to the cheesy pop scene, but aim to rival Girls Aloud.
The five-piece, made up of Rochelle, Mollie, Una, Vanessa, and Frankie, are signed to the same label as Girls Aloud and have supported them on tour. They’re now apparently ready to make the big time.
Two of the girls – Frankie and Rochelle – used to be in S Club Juniors, so they know what fame and fortune is like already…and the girls are set to release their debut single ‘If This Is Love’ to see whether they can all follow suit. Watch this space…?
Facebook knocks myspace off the top spot
It’s taken long enough…but Facebook has eventually cracked it, and has overtaken Myspace as the most popular social networking site.
Murdoch paid $580 million for Myspace in 2005 and has seen the site grow to become the biggest in the world. But Facebook has finally pulled in more monthly unique users than its rival for the first time, according to internet analysts Comscore's May report. MySpace raked in 114.6 million visitors last month, Facebook received 123.9 million – a massive increase of 162% on the same period last year.
Murdoch dismissed the recent stats saying Facebook was just “flavour of the month” for the moment, and rather than being a true social networking site, it was merely “just a directoy.”
In other news…
