MP LEMBIT OPIK is to wed Cheeky Girl GABRIELA IRIMIA, it was announced last night.
The Lib-Dem proposed to the Romanian pop babe in Rome after dating for more than a year.
Lembit, 42, went down on one knee by the Trevi Fountain with a platinum Tiffany diamond ring.
Gabriela, 25, said: “When I said ‘Yes’ he started to cry. I was so happy that I just kept smiling and laughing.”
The couple will wed next year or in 2010.
They met in 2006 on Channel Five’s All Star Talent Show while Lembit was engaged to TV weathergirl SIAN LLOYD.
He denies cheating on Sian, who wed millionaire Jonathan Ashman in January. Lembit said: “I hope people will now be happy for us, even those who’ve been negative.”

WAYNE ROONEY’s fiancée COLEEN MCLOUGHLIN is being axed as the face of Asda’s fashion label – and may be substituted by elegant CARLA BRUNI.
The supermarket chain no longer wants the WAG image for its George range and is instead seeking a more glamorous look.
Bosses were impressed by the rave fashion reviews enjoyed by French President NICOLAS SARKOZY’s wife, 40, on their recent State visit to England – and reckon she will pull in more shoppers than soccer ace Rooney’s missus-to-be.
Asda spokesman Ed Watson said: “Among the names being considered is Carla Bruni. She’s very attractive and a highly stylish person. We feel she would fit in very well with the George look.”
Asda has admitted it is keen to attract middle-class shoppers. George brand director Fiona Lambert said: “Coleen has been a fantastic ambassador for us.
“But we want to show that our core fashions are for everyone.
“We have been chasing younger customers rather than people who shop at Asda week-in, week-out – namely mums and dads who buy their clothing during the weekly shopping trip.”
Coleen, 22, due to wed the England striker this summer, was signed as the face of George for £3million in 2006 when WAGs were all the rage.
But in recent months George sales have stalled just as shopaholic Coleen has plumped for more designer brands.
Other older beauties Asda may sign include Joanna Lumley, 61, Dame Helen Mirren, 62, and Elle MacPherson, 45.
